The archive has now been compiled, and is available for viewing by appointment only at the Watershed in Bridge Street Slaithwaite. Should you wish to see it, please click here to contact us.
The archive was launched on the 7th June 2007 by local MP Kali Mountford, who has been a firm supporter from day one.
You can purchase the book of the archive, entitled 'Arking Back' by clicking on the buy the book item to your left and following the instructions there.
The book is available at a cost of £5.00 to anyone while stocks last. Complimentary copies have been supplied to local libraries, and the County Archivist.
As part of the launch in February 2006, there was a photographic exhibition accompanied by a small drama production. This has been displayed on a touring basis at local venues in future.
The whole archive is now stored in the archive rooms at the Watershed, a new community facility currently in the last stages of construction in Slaithwaite.
The archive content should provide a great source of information available freely for use by anyone who wishes to study it. All documents submitted will become the property of the archive, and recognition will be given to the contributors.
So now you know.
